Restaurant of Villa Morgana Resort

Starting at the parking area on the terrain of the resort a small lane leads to owner's house. Next to this house you will find the two-storeyed, open restaurant. In its ground level the dining area for guests is located. The floor over it invites to sit and spend some time.

The dining area is the central meeting point. It is well-spaced and provides also a bar. Besides breakfast you can get cooked meals for about 7 to 9 €. Often in the evenings music is played.

From the dining area you have a marvellous view over the pool, the sea and the surrounding guest's lodges. The houses with the logdes have been build in original cape verdian style and have an estimated size of 5 by 10 meters. The houses contain one to two lodges.

We had booked with breakfast, which makes sense. There was omelette, white bread, cheese, luncheon meat, jam and nut-nougat-creme. With it always fruits such as mango, bananas, apples or sometimes also pears were handed. For drinking there was fruit juice, coffee and milk. Often there was chocolate powder to mix cocoa. We also tasted traditional Cachupa. It consists of maize, beans and rests of fish or meat and Europeans need to get used to it.

At noon we never ate, because of the heat we did not get hungry. For compensation we ate in the evenings - not always in the resort, but also in different restaurants. There were some communication problems about details, because we only speak English. In restaurants, but also in the resort we seldom got sauce to our dinner and instead of getting boiled potatoes we often got only French fries. For me the best was "Bife de atum" which is a tuna steak. My wife liked to have a "Bife de vaca" which is a beef steak. The spaghetti were OK, but in contrast to Germany, I disliked chicken there. You never get pure chicken meat, but always any oddments. All in all the food in the resort was OK, but not perfect.
