When driving from Serra Malagueta in direction of Tarrafal, you see on the way near Cha de Figueiras the following picture. Often the area is cloud-covered and noticeable colder.

Also very lovely is the road to Hortelao that guides from village Achada Tenda in direction of Ribeira Principal into the mountains. The good built cobbled street ends in Hortelao. If you want to drive further, you have to take an off-road vehicle, because the way continues only through a riverbed.

Enjoy a superb view to the landscape around Tarrafal on the way from Chao Bom to the village Ribeira da Prata. The village in the foreground is Chao Bom while Tarrafal is shown up in the background. The street is good and is worthwhile, because it leads through the mountains und provides many more breathtaking prospects. You will return to the main road beneath Sierra Malagueta.

With moderate wind the surge on the rocks of the village Ponta Rincao is already great. Difficult to imagine how this looks like with strong winds. The picture is shot from the more highly situated promontory. On its other side there's a beach, but we don't know, if it's appropriate for bathing.
